: Life often sends us challenges we do not have the skill set to master. A bad appendix leads most to their doc. Emotional issues often need the aid of specially trained guidance for recovery but many don't consider it. I would find a life coach/therapist to learn skills needed to move through grief. Your doc should know what's available locally.

i am 64 yr female. since feb i hav gained 16pounds. ihave been on on klonopin (clonazepam) for bout 6yrs so don't think it's that.  could grief cause it. i am very?

Some people do: Eat to comfort themselves when grieving. Others eat but it isn't healthy food. Both of these can be possible reasons for weight gain. See you have bipolar disorder with behavior therapy. Consider talking with friends, relatives, clergy or your therapist about your grieving. Take care.

can short term memory loss be caused by traumatic experiences , stress grief .. is losing your memory permament or as depression lifts it will return ?

Yes trauma does this: Trauma releases chemicals that are deleterious to your memory cells. Some of those memory cells unfortunately die off. Part of the action of antidepressants is to stimulate brain derived  neurotrophic  factor, which helps those brain cells regrow so that your memory becomes sharper again. Best wishes.:).

i've recently been targeted by a neighborhood bully. as an adult, i should be better able to handle it, but it has caused me a lot of grief and physical symptoms such as clenched jaw, tense muscles, etc. best ways to handle the tension?

Meditation &amp; Mediati: First, just because you're an adult does not mean you have to tolerate someone bullying you. If it's a minor, discuss their behavior with a parent. If an adult, tell them outright to their face that they are a bully and you're not going to respond further to their behaviors. Then, begin to meditate daily.There are several excellent meditation apps you can use to diffuse anger you are internalizing

how is complicated grief defined? lost mom to brain cancer abt 9 yrs ago & still have  occasional sad times as a result. is that a normal response?

Sounds normal: This is pathological if and only if you find yourself unable to function because of your sorrow. If the latter is the case, a short course of cognitive-behavioral therapy or similar insight-type therapy may be in order. Since you recognize this may be problematic, you have insight and motivation, and your prognosis would be good.

is anything special happening at that time-like are you worried about getting a paycheck? I sounds like you had a full medical checkup so there are no physical causes.

Not likely: A tethered cord may be a problem during periods of rapid growth during childhood.  As an adult, it is very unlikely to start causing a problem.  Minor numbness is common in normal persons and may be a trapped or pinched nerve.  Tight clothing may be a cause or pelvic problems including inflammation of kidney or uterus or ovaries, etc.  Discuss this with your doctor.  May need pelvic ultrasound.

Often: Fibromyalgia would be  a major cause of generalized soft tissue pain with areas of trigger point tenderness. Physical or emotional stress can cause the disease to flare.

Get eval.: When sx are sudden and different from what one already has had, it's always a good idea to let your doctor know and be evaluated for anything physical that might cause confusion and take things from there.

No: You can get TB from exposure to the bacteria associated with the illness. This may come through infectious droplets from a TB patient's cough or sneeze.  Most people overcome this primary tb, & it stays dormant for years. Especially in elderly and sick people though, it can reactivate.  In traditional chinese medicine, the emotion governing the lung is grief -- but this differs  from tb.
