Ear: Ear pain is often a sign of inflammation.  The loud roaring sound is known as "tinnitus", and is the normal ear's response to a sudden change in hearing.  I recommend you see an otolaryngologist (ent).

Roaring earache.: A roaring sound and pain in your ear needs immediate evaluation. Do not delay. It will not go away on its' own and will become worse.

Infection: Some sort of infection probably going on either in the ear or very close to ear otherwise you would not feel pain. See your doctor otitis externa , mastoiditis , otitis media like conditions needs to be ruled out.

Earpain: You may have fluid in your ears. see an ENT specialist He may put you on a course of steroids.If that fails you may need a myringotomy and tubes to correct the situation

Sudden loud sound: I suggest you go see a doctor who can look into your ear canal to see if the ear drum is ruptured.

what is it? i had a popping sound and  sharp ear pain after using sinus rinse

Sinus rinse -ear pop: Could be  that the rinse  also drains into the Eustachian tube, as both the sinuses and middle ear  drain into the Eustachain ( hence post nasal drip). There may be, due to congestion, increased fluid in the middle ear as well. When you rinse your sinuses  you are increasing the pressure in the Eustachian tubes , opening it and making your ears pop ( like when on a plane).  f/u /w/ doc

having varying degrees of ear pain for 5 days now, in the ear that i don't hear well out of (been that way for months, minus pain), & i hear cracking in it when turning my head, also if i cover that ear, what i hear sounds like rain or radio static?

: A good option is to see the PCP or ENT Consult to have the ear(s) checked out and appropriate/ preventive care started. Sooner is better than later if possible.

Cerumen Impaction: Wax build up in the canal of the outer ear is very common and can lead to ear pay, decreased hearing and muffled noise. Have your ears checked by an md, avoid use of q-tips, and take advil (ibuprofen) 600 mg three times per day for pain.
