Safe but not healthy: Low carb is good especially low refined carbs but high fat is not good especially animal fats. Beware of foods that come from animals that walk on 4 legs (or that are mistreated!) eat lots of fruit vegetables grains high quality protein. If you are diabetic watch out for the fruit. There are a lot of very good websites that can advise you on healthy diets. And don't forget to be active!

Not recommended: Usually it is not recommended for teenagers to be on very restrictive diets (like giving up all of one type of food, or only eating one type). The best diet is a balanced one with small portions of healthy foods. Paying attention to eating when you are hungry, and not just "because" will also help. Get some healthy exercise. If you are concerned, see your doctor.

Google carbohydrates: Carbohydrates are good sources of energy, but they are easy to overdo! healthy carbohydrates include whole grain bread and cereals like oatmeal. Less healthy carbs include cakes, cookies, candy - you get the point: sugar is a carbohydrate! alcohol is a carbohydrate. You may want to limit your carbs to the healthier ones and try to reduce your intake of sugary junk food. Good luck.

Go Low Carb!: Low carb, high fat diets are getting a lot of press lately, &amp; for good reason. If u choose HEALTHY fats (salmon, nuts, avocados, olive oil, etc) &amp; eat enough protein you'll find that u feel satisfied, even without carbs. I wouldn't entirely eliminate carbs, but reduce them significantly 2 control your weight. Avoid sugar &amp; highly processed carbs. Skip chips, cookies, soda, white bread/rice, cakes.

Choose wisely: Choose complex carbohydrates, like fresh fruits and whole grains. Eat in portion control. Dont avoid these foods, but eat moderately. Fats- cook, broil, bake and try not to eat fried foods or creams or gravies, or eat sparingly. Dont completely avoid fats, your body needs some fat to absorb the vitamins A, D, E and K. Avoiding fats can lead to a deficiency. Just minimize your fat intake.

Vegetables: Vegetables are your answer. (generall 3 -4 g fiber per serving) vegetables are high in fiber and low in carbs. Legumes, as beans are high in carbs and fiber. Meat, chicken fish are low in fiber and have no carbs.  Try to have half your plate as vegetables to achieve your goal. Fruits are higher in carbs than vegetables and lower in fiber ( generally 2 g fiber per fruit).
