Go for it: You should be able to eat chips now. Be sure to rinse your mouth after eating. You know the answer for smoking. Why not take this opportunity to quit? A patch or nicotine gum will help you. Good luck

Not recommended: it is safest for them to know everything you are taking or have taken recently.  they are obligated to keep that information confidential.  if you havent used marijuana in 2 weeks before the procedure, it is unlikely that it will directly affect how they manage your case, but the more information your doctor has about you the better.

Smoking: My best advise is not to smoke at all especially in the first 24 hours and as many days thereafter as possible.  Smoking produces a sucking action that can dislodge the clot. The Carbon Monoxide from smoking limits the Oxygen needed for healing in the extraction site and the Nicotine slows the healing process. Stitches and packing w gauze will provide protection against the suction from smoking.

Try to wait: Smoking dope dries your mouth, by reducung the flow of saliva. It is the saliva that neutralises the by products of bacterial metabolism that can cause a dry socket if the wound gets infected and damages the blood clot. The white plaque over the wound is fine leave it alone. Use a salt water mouth rinse three times a day.

2 to 4 weeks: The holes in your gums should be closed in 2 to 4 weeks.  By 4 to 6 weeks you should not really notice those spots much.  It will take months and months for the bone to fill in, but you have no reason to be concerned with that.

It happens. : When your whole muth is numb you swallow as a reaction anyway. But if you add blood, yucky tasting anesthetic and excess saliva from the surgery then you might throw up.
Also, if you had general anesthesia...Some people don't tolerate it to well.

Chlorhexidine 0.12%: There is evidence that rinsing with chlorhexidine 0.12% provides a benefit in preventing dry socket. Chlorhexidine rinse can affect individual people in different ways. Burning sensation on the soft tissue may be a side effect that is associated with this medicine.
