SSRI's Not related: Fluvoxamine, or luvox, (fluvoxamine) is an antidepressant in the ssri family. Individuals metabolize these medications differently and at different rates. Stomach ulcers are caused primarily by the bacterium h. Pylori. Ssri's to not seem to increase this risk. However, combining an ssri with heavy NSAID use can cause increased stomach discomfort in some individuals.

i get frequent mouth ulcers.and when i eat spicy food sometimes i feel like my whole oesophagus and stomach burning.does honey help?

Help-: Honey may or may not help. What will help more is to avoid all foods and liquids that produce these problems. You may also want to consult with a local physician to rule out all other medical issues.

do people who fast and dont eat all day get gastritis/ulcer? as stomach produces acid in anticipation of food. can it be the sole cause for it.

Some basics: The stomach parietal cells create acid in quantities needed to prepare food to enter the small intestine. There is always a baseline acid production/acid environment. The food slurry must reach an acid pH or the digestive enzymes will not be effective. Gastritis can/is triggered by a variety of issues including infection. Infection is also a co-factor in ulcer production. Fasting is not a factor.

doctor, i had ulcer before. still sometimes i get the symptoms if i eat acid or hot foods.can i take probiotic tablet?  is it safe for me?

Gastritis: You can safely take probiotics, but they will do nothing for your symptoms. Discuss with your doctor because it may be important to check again with a scope to make sure serious complications have not developed.  Avoid any foods that exacerbate symptoms. Yes: The mucosa in the mouth is extremely sensitive and extreme temperatures as well as friction can cause oral ulcers.  Avoid hot and spicy food for about a week and it should go away.

i get contactions sometimes in left arm and heart. i have ulcer in stomach. why this happens ? what diet to follow to curb these. ? what foods to avoid ?

: Your body is talking to you. Listen and take good notes.  Share with your Dr.  keep a food diary to find what foods to avoid. Only you can tell this. If it is a good problem which it most likely not.

: You do not get rabies from a dog that is up to date on their rabies vaccination no mater what they lick/bite.

can a 21 year old get stomach cancer? very full after eating a little food. been dealing with acid reflux and possible ulcer for 4 months now.

Accepted Answer

It happens....but..: This is a rare cancer at  any age in the US. We never say always or never in medicine. Chances are you just have complications from your reflux, if anything more than the common disorder it is. Avoid caffeine and nicotine, don't lay down for at least an hour after any meal &amp; get your reflux under control. If you are preoccupied with cancer at your age you may need to talk to a life coach.

i've had upper abdominal pain & shortness of breath for 7 days. doctor did ecg & bloodwork (normal) so they think it's stomach ulcer. taken pantoprazole for 5 days, no improvement. pain does not get worse when eating acidic foods. what could it be?

: Would get tested for H pylori a bacteria that resides in the stomach and is associated with ulcers and needs antibiotics to resolve/or gallbladder( ultrasound).  Test for COVID. Do CXR.. Recent vaccination- check for myocarditis (may see on EKG/echo) Rarely if near the lungs may be lung clot (more commonly in females on birth control) -d-dimer test may be helpful. F/u/ w/ urgent care/ MD
