i went to my primary care doc due to abscessed tooth and still had swelling in face. she gave me another round of amoxicillin & something called chlorhexidine glu 0.12% rinse. will this help any with my abscess? oral surgeon appt in almost 3 weeks?

: Abscessed tooth will not always respond to Amoxicillin, and chlorhexidine will not be effective with an abscess.  Suggest calling your primary care physician and ask him/her to request an earlier appointment with the oral surgeon, or go to an ED for treatment, where an oral surgeon is on call.   Dental abscesses can become significant health hazards if delayed in treatment.

why can't an existing tooth be glued back in to the hole left behind?

More info needed...: Not sure of your question... if you are asking why an extracted tooth cannot be glued into your bony socket, it's because it will not stay in place. Your body will treat it as a foreign object and will try to reject it.

i accidentally glued something to my tooth. how can i get it off safely?

Depends on glue : See your dentist. Depends on glue and the something. If it was superglue, it will eventually come off as the glue dissolves in the mouth -- may take days / weeks. If you can grab the something with your fingers or needlenose pliers, you might be able to twist it off. If it is soft enough, you might use an emery board to sand/file it off. If all else fails --see your dentist. Good luck.

Decay ?: Your chip may have allowed bacteria to get into the tooth, and now it sounds like you have a really deep cavity. You will need to call a local dentist for an appointment asap to prevent this from progressing further.

Super glue: This would be ill-advised and extremely dangerous.
Return to your dentist and have the tooth and crown checked to find out why it came off. Crowns are not supposed to fall off. There may be a problem with the tooth and/or the crown.

See your dentist: The adhesive from orthodontic brackets can only be removed by your dentist.  The adhesive can be removed with a diamond polisher

Hello. : Hello.  I am not a dentist; so any information i provide canâ€˜t substitute for your dentistâ€™s input. Please check with your dentist for his or her recommendation.
    First off, don't recommend using glue or other house-hold  adhesives to re-cement your tooth/ crown. There are products which can be used to re-cement crowns that have fallen off. Recapit, temparin, and dentemp are three such products.  Follow the directions that come with the product. Make sure your tooth is clean and dry. If it is wet, it can impact the seal. You can clean the interior of the crown and make sure that it is also clean and dry. Check to make sure the crown fits evenly, before you cement it in. If not there might be a piece of cement on your tooth or in the crown that is the cause. This could be gently scraped off.

Probably not: If your tooth is broken, it needs to be restored, not patched back together with the broken piece. Unless of course you are referring to a chipped front tooth with no cavities... In many instances, the chipped piece can be bonded back on and the results are superb.

Nope: Dentemp from your local pharmacy would be a better choice. And call a dentist for an appointment to restore the broken tooth. It sounds like it is already in need of restorative care.
