Probably not: If your tooth is broken, it needs to be restored, not patched back together with the broken piece. Unless of course you are referring to a chipped front tooth with no cavities... In many instances, the chipped piece can be bonded back on and the results are superb.

Definitely, no: See a dentist for evaluation, diagnosis, x-rays and treatment options. If you are in pain from a broken tooth, you may want to take an NSAID or Tylenol (acetaminophen) OTC for pain relieve.

Sometimes: The chipped off part of a front tooth can sometimes be bonded back to the tooth. You should be sure to follow-up with your dentist for several months following any traumatic event to assess the health of the tooth nerve. Sometimes a traumatized tooth can die and root canal is needed.
