is there such a thing as a dental implant that comes premade with an adjustable  abutment head?

Many types: There are many different types of implants and prosthetic components on the market. Your surgeon and restorative dentist will use a system that they are comfortable with and that will satisfy the requirements of your reconstruction. Many times custom work is indicated due to implant angulation and existing space. Allow your dentist the latitude to make the best restoration s/he can.

Maybe: Face changes are always possible with the extraction of any tooth. That is why it is always best to replace missing teeth ASAP. If any changes do occur, they will probably be minimal.

Should you do ?: Answer is yes, if your surgeon is requesting digital images of your surgery site. The amount of radiation is least for a single dental film, and obviously more for a scan that has to pass through more tissue. What you must remember is that the dosage is of diagnostic strength, not occupational exposure. Millions of images have been taken without a problem.

can dental implants be harmful? can they cause bell's palsy or somekind of numbness to your face?

Yes and No: Very unlikely that implants would cause bell's palsy.  Numbness of the lower lip or tongue may occur if the implant is placed too close to a nerve or the nerve is damaged in preparing the site for the implant.  To avoid these the surgeon will usually do a ct scan to help plan the surgery to avoid these complications.

i have dental implants in my front four upper teeth. the back of them is exposed metal. i fell asleep with a cough drop in my mouth & woke up to the roof of my mouth & the gums around my front teeth swollen & burn. could it be caused by the cough dro?

Tips on implants: Have the best surgeon and restorative dentist you can find diagnose and plan the case. Don't be impatient, this is generally a long process but well worth the money and the time invested. Don't look for bargains or immediate results.

Possibly: If the implant is solid then the doctor who placed it can try to eliminate the infection and rebuild the lost bone
if it is loose, then the implant will have to be removed the bone rebuilt and the implant replaced.

Yes but Why?: Trust is the most important factor in achieving the good outcome of your treatment.  Perhaps the communication between you and your dentist could improve with having to go over the treatment plan to settle your difference.  Was it the diagnostic process? Or the outcome of the surgery?  Many times we should wait for the end result before passing out judgement. Be patient and speak out your concern.
