Call your dentist: You will need to get x-rays of your teeth and possibly your sinus, the maxillary sinuses should not normally affect your 4 front teeth, your dentist will decide if you have an infection and if you need root canal treatments. If the sinuses are causing the numbness of your teeth then you need to get the sinus treated first.

Yes: It is not abnormal to have a patient come in with a toothache that turns out to be a sinus infection. Patients will describe pain in the upper teeth often not a specific tooth and pressure or aching and throbbing of their teeth. If the tooth is abscessed the infection can eat away the bone at the end of the root and provide a path to the sinus. Infection follows the path of least resistance.

Possibly: If the teeth are broken down that much, they are probably non-vital. The root tips, if communicating with the sinus, can carry oral bacteria into the sinus causing inflammation and/or infection. The teeth sound as if they are hopeless.. You really need to see a dentist to have them extracted.

Usually unrelated: The roots of some of the upper back teeth may be close to the maxillary sinus and therefore sinus problems may produce what seems like a toothache.  However, tooth grinding or bruxism is more related to stress and anxiety, or in some cases, bite problems.  Discuss sinus problems with your physician and grinding problems with your dentist. They are both independent and there are remedies for both.

This condition may lead to irreversible damage to cilia (small hairs of the mucosa) and rebound where the nose is worse than before you started the medication.  Any nasal condition, whether allergic or non-allergic should be managed by an ENT doctor.

Be prepared to take an IMMEDIATE dose of valacyclovir 2 Gram (2pills) at the first tingling (PRODROME) of the next attack. Get a prescription now and always have 2 pills ready to use. This will shorten the attack and reduce the symptoms. Topical are almost useless.
