on the left side of my gum it's very painful. my dentist said my gum is inflamed, it's swollen,i wear dentures is it time for new dentures? i take 6 or more pain pills depending on the pain. please help?

Sore gums: Dentures don't change, but dental ridges and overlying gum tissues do. oYu didn't say how long you have had your current dentures. Depending on age and fit they may be relignable. If not, replacement is an option. Gum inflammation may be from denture rubbing, or may be do to one of hundreds of different pathologic processes. See you Dentist to discuss options, including implant supported dentures.

2 days after having all top teeth pulled and dentures set, my gums swelling has went down but i woke today to my sinuses swollen considerately?

Swelling: Post Operative swelling is not unusual following any type of surgery.  Sometimes it's a normal part of the healing process.  Sometimes it signifies infection.  Please return to your Dentist for reevaluation.

See you dentist: Hi Billy!  Your denture should start feeling better after a week or so.  It's not uncommon for a denture to be adjusted multiple times after you have had your teeth out.  The bone and gum tissue will eventually heal and shrink.  At this point you will need to relign the denture so it fits your mouth properly.  Usually a few months after receiving the denture. I guess they can...: but not because you went from one state to another. See a local dentist in your new state to determine the cause of your swollen gums.

my son has oral warts on his gum can this cause a bitter taste when he wears denture on top of wart?

Gum irritation: and opened tissue regardless it is a wart or any eruption, can harbor bacteria and can cause not only bad taste but also bad breath. Wearing ill fitting dentures can also cause this. If the taste is specifically bitter and the denture is always clean, the more he needs to see a doctor.

i have a hard white irrigation on the inside of the corner of lip, it feels swollen, i do wear dentures, im not sure what this is, the inside of my corner of lip feels tight?

: You have denture stomatitis which is a fungal infection[thrush]. This is caused by wearing dentures for a long period of time, when sleeping, poor oral hygiene, a diet high in sugars and carbohydrates, smoking and alcohol use. Treatment is with anti-fungal medication, nystatin or miconazole that come in a lozenge or ointment form. See your dentist and keep dentures clean.

how long does it take gums to heal before i can wear dentures? i had a full mouth extraction done last week, and would like to know how long before my gums heal enough that i can get dentures and use adhesive?

Several : Several different aspects to this question.

Sometimes dentures are made prior to the extractions so you can leave the office wearing them.  This is called an immediate denture procedure.  The advantage is that you have teeth right away, the disadvantage is you may require more postoperative adjustments to the dentures to make them fit properly.

The second technique involves extracting the teeth and letting the gums heal for about 4 weeks before beginning the process to make the dentures.  This takes longer and you have to go without teeth for awhile but it gives a better fit.

Well made dentures should not require the use of adhesives.  As the jaw bone slowly reabsorbs over time you may find the need for a small amount of adhesive.  If you require a lot of adhesive the denture fit is poor and they should be remade.

i had blood clot removed from my gum/ lip area  july 1 st. when i wear my denture it is still sore. how long will this take to heal completely?

In time: If the base of the denture or the edge is rubbing the surgery site then it will take longer for the area to heal.  If it takes more than another week or so you might want to have the surgeon check this out.  Although not likely, non-healing wound may be something more serious, and will need additional attention.

Dentures: After extraction of teeth, before making dentures, dentists usually smooth the edges of the extraction sockets. This is done to help make the jaw bone rounded in order to prevent any soreness that may result from the dentures.

which is the trick to getting the fixodent for dentures off your gums?

Accepted Answer

Gauze: I find using dry gauze works the best. Consider using less fixodent and see your dentist about possibly having your dentures relined or remade or better yet, having implant retained dentures or teeth.
