Gum irritation: and opened tissue regardless it is a wart or any eruption, can harbor bacteria and can cause not only bad taste but also bad breath. Wearing ill fitting dentures can also cause this. If the taste is specifically bitter and the denture is always clean, the more he needs to see a doctor.

Oral warts?: Who diagnosed his lesions as "oral warts"? My best advice is to have him seen by a dentist to see what's going on and recommend best course of action. We have too little information to go on to suggest anything else.
