Malaria tablets: Potentially any.  There isn&#x27;t an association between penicillin allergy and allergy to any malaria medication, whether it is for prevention or treatment.  The two antibiotics used for malaria are tetracycline and sulfonamides, but these are not related to penicillin and do not have cross-sensitivity to it.

Yes but for what?: Yes. You can take Bactrim (sulfamethoxazole and trimethoprim) as it is  a sulfa drug and different class of drug from penicillin and erythromycin. The real question is for what condition do you want to take? Because the causative organisms for specific diseases may be virus, bacteria, fungus or parasite and  the Bactrim (sulfamethoxazole and trimethoprim) is not a magic bullet for all. See your doctorwho would tailor the antibiotic according to organism & sensitivity.

Not related: and no way to know if you are truly allergic to penicillin except by getting professionally tested by an allergist or having a reaction after taking the medicine in any  form and  establishing a temporal relationship, if there's no alternative to penicillin, and you have a history of ? penicillin allergy, ask your doctor to consult an allergist, otherwise ask your doctor to prescribe an alternative

A reaction to penicillin tablets or IV infusion suggests allergy. Most other antibiotics and certain cephalosporins are safe. Not sure - see an allergist/immunologist.

It is estimated that about 10% of penicillin-allergic patients are also allergic to cephalosporins like keflex.
