Get evaluated: There are a number of causes for acute vision loss.  Glaucoma can do this but is very uncommon, especially at your age.  Do you have diabetes, vascular disease or other health problems?  Have you had trauma? Or could you have multiple sclerosis?  You need to go immediately to an ophthalmologist or an emergency room for sudden blindness.

Not a good idea: Lasik in patients with severe glaucoma is not a good idea.  It could cause vision loss due to increased pressure during flap formation and makes it more difficult to follow the glaucomatous changes.

Do your homework!: Treatments & medications for glaucoma are getting better all the time; plus earlier detection makes a big difference. Make sure not to rub your eyes!  worry does no good; just get educated on your condition & about the options available.

Needs eye exam: If your father has diabetes and kidney failure, it is very likely he has diabetic retinopathy as well.  This is diagnosed with a dilated eye exam.  Blindness or blurry vision that lasts several seconds at a time could also represent ischemia or lack of blood blow to the eye or brain.  This needs to be evaluated by his primary physician and an ophthalmologist.

my indoor cat was shaking and some of her saliva got in my eye, i immediately washed my eye and even did put a drop of my lenses water to desinfect, is there any risk of infection or going blind?

Not really: These medicines do not cause glaucoma.  You must follow your instructions from your eye md and keep all scheduled appointments.  Unfortunately there are no guarantees in health and biology.

Pressures: This is dependent upon the pressure and remaining optic nerve tissue.  If properly treated, glaucomatous vision loss can often be completely arrested.
