obesity, weight loss success with healthy diet and exercise: is it normal for heart to beat stronger through chest wall so much to see heart beating motion through shirts? or feeling a stronger heart beat when laying down? is this due to fat loss?

Accepted Answer

: Cardiac point of maximal impulse (PMI) is not easy to visualize even in a male chest so I do not think what you have observed is normal if you truly see that. We can observe the chest or breasts moving up and down with breathing but not the heart beats. You should see your family doctor if you have any doubt.

i am 22 and 300 pounds and have some chest pain every once in a while is this likely from my obesity or some kind of congestive heart failure?

Accepted Answer

: Majority of chest pain is caused by musculoskeletal causes, but heart can always be the cause and cannot be ignored. Losing weight in your case will help, congestive heart failure is not causing chest pain, obesity may contribute to heart failure later in life.

im about to turn 30, working on obesity, have diabetes and hbp (managed). had an angiogram done through my groin that was clean and clear, words of the doctor. still have palpitations and chest pain, any ideas why this could still be happening?

: Assuming you referred to a coronary angiogram, that test apparently revealed normal coronary arteries; there are other, non-coronary potential causes of palpitations and chest pain.  Therefore, it's best to return to your doctor to pursue other possible causes of your symptoms.

holter monitor is good, ekg is clean and stress test coming soon. im still having chest pain, have been told its anxiety but how can chest pain feel intense and not be a heart condition? 29/female/obesity/controlled hbp & diabetic?

: The stress test will likely provide the answer as to whether your pain is heart-related, assuming you can exercise to an extent that will increase your heart rate. It will be especially helpful if your pain occurs during the test. Anxiety can cause VERY intense chest pain so the intensity of the pain is not enough to figure out the etiology of your pain. Good luck on your stress test!

"breast lump" ?: A moveable "breast lump" at age 17 is usually related to your hormone cycle, or is a benign fibroadenoma.  Ask your gyn physician for an exam, and further testing if necessary.

can mild increase in prolactin cause tender breast especially before menstruation? can it cause obesity?

Prolactin: The mild increase can cause the breast tenderness and may cause a discharge. However, it isn't a cause of the obesity.  Birth control pills, or other medications may also cause mild elevation in prolactin levels.

Take a breath.:  This doesn't mean you will get breast cancer. Is there a strong family history of breast cancer? There are risk factors you can do something about: stay physically active, take off excess weight, avoid excess alcohol &amp; be aware of risks of hormone replacement therapy.

You can't : You can't "spot reduce" fat. Some men have gynecomastia, the abnormal development of large mammary glands in males resulting in breast enlargement. This can be addressed surgically.

Spot fat loss does: not occur naturally. By losing weight in general  some may be chest fat.  But, we don&#x27;t get to choose what area of body fat is lost from.
