NO: As a screening marker for ovarian cancer this test is of no use. It can be elevated in women with conditions such as endometriosis, pelvic inflammatory disease, and uterine fibroids  to name a few. Its true utility is in monitoring for cancer recurrence.

Prolactin production: Is a peptide made in he pituitary.  Levels can be measured to see if yours is abnormally high. It can be raised by nipple stimulation or dysregulated growth that can be found on imaging. While there is medical treatment, you need an endocrinologist to help guide the path.

Talk with your doc: As a gynecologic oncologist, i don't usually follow estrogen as a marker for ovarian cancer. There are a few rare exceptions (granulosa cell tumors). Estrogen is also made in fat cells. You and your wife should have a conversation with her doctor about why they are sending estrogen levels at all. Aromatase inhibitors are a group of drugs that prevent estrogen production and can be used to treat.

Not necessarily: Not necessarily true unless there is a granulosa ovarian cell tumor which produces large amounts of estrogen. Ovarian cancer is best diagnosed with an ovarian biopsy and not blood testing and that includes the CA-125 which can be elevated erroneously with Endometriosis.

: If high AST is present in pancreatic or ovarian cancer we will be fortunate because these cancers can be detected early. Unfortunately, these 2 cancers are usually quite advanced (or late presentation) when detected.

Small bowel obstruct: Small bowel obstruction is seen frequently in patients following initial treatment for ovarian cancer. Any surgery or cancer in the peritoneum can give rise to fibrous strands called adhesions which can "strangle" the small bowel causing bowel blockage. Because of the decreased nutrition, this can also lead to a feeling of weakness. The elevated calcium may not be related.

Sometimes: Usually this is only considered if the patient has a known genetic predisposition, such as hereditary breast and ovarian cancer syndrome (associated with brca1 and brca2). Note that these syndromes only make up a small fraction of the cancer diagnosed here.

after hystrectomy alone the risk was found to be 1 in 300, but if you also had the ovaries removed the risk was 1 in 5000.This was found in retroactive study of 25000 females between ages of 50 to 70, in an article published april 2011 in womens health/gynacology.

Liver enzymes: Ovarian cancer, could produce elevation of the liver enzymes for several reasons, spread to the liver, chometherapy effect, vascular congestion due to spread into the blood vessels of the abdomen. Still testing should be done for other causes of liver disease.
