i have a broken ankle and i am in a cast i have got a bruise near my toes it's little but has just appeared i am on fragmin (dalteparin) for 6 weeks what do i do?

See your doctor: The bruise could be pooled blood from the fracture because gravity causes it to accumulate in your feet. However,as you are on fragmin (dalteparin) any bleeding of concern should be discussed w/your doctor.They can determine  the appropriate evaluation &amp; if necessary remove the cast, image and test in the office and replace appropriately. It's important to keep your doctor apprised of bleeding while on Fragmin (dalteparin)

i had surgery for a broken ankle 3 weeks ago. my dr said not to put pressure on it but i can walk on that leg but it's unstable. is it okay to drive?

Ask your surgeon: Do not attempt without consulting surgeon. Just curious, which ankle is it. If it is your driving foot this will obviously have a significant effect.

Stiffness: After being in a cast for six weeks any joint will be stiff, and weak and can cause pain.  Assuming everything healed correctly time and some therapy can chelp restore motion and strength which will help with the pain.

Weak: if you've been in a cast for 6 weeks your ankle is weak. likely the fracture has healed so the bone can support your weight. work on motion and strengthening. you might need some light external support during this process

Weight distribution: Now you are putting more weight on the other  unaffected leg , this maldistribution is causing pain , speak to you orthopedic surgeon , and teach you how to balance better

Be seen: Sometimes fractures can bleed and that can potentially track to other areas of the leg and cause pain and swelling, so it may be "normal".  But because having a fracture puts you at increased risk for blood clot, I would let your doctor know immediately and see if further work up such as a Doppler ultrasound needs to be done.

Calf bruising: I would be concerned about a blood clot in his leg.  This can be quite serious as it could lead to a blood clot in the lungs.  Please encourage him to be seen tonight to be evaluated for this, this is truly an emergency.

i have bruising "splotches" starting from my left ankle and continuing up my inner calf about every 2 inches to my knee.

Need Evaluation: List of possible causes is long but clotting or bleeding issue is of most concern.  Also vasculitis on the list as well.  Best to see your doctor for evaluation.  Posting a picture of the "splothes" might be helpful as well. Best of luck with this.  Dr R
