despite working out four to five times a week with a trainer, i have gained close to 15 pounds in 8 months. i also rarely sleep through the nigh.help!?

Calories: U really need a healthy diet that has fewer carbohydrates and fats and increased reliance on vegetables to lose weight effectively. Jogging and swimming can burn between 100 cal a mile to five or 600 cal an hour when swimming. 3500 cal is equal to 1 pound of fat so you can see it takes a lot of exercise. You need to work on diet as well.

i struggle to sleep. a personal trainer at the gym told me that ii exercise too much and therefore cant put my mind to rest? my average heart rate this morning during exercise was 150 bpm and max 174 bpm. is that normal?  thank you

Target heart rate: I don't know your sex, but To determine your target heart rate during moderate and  intense exercise, use the formula for males::: 225 minus age times .70 or .85
Average max rate=165
For females a formula could be::: 206 minus age,etc  To find moderate  and  maximum heart rate.
Bear in mind there are various other formulas and these are only guidelines.

Perhaps, but who : Cares if it might seem odd to others. If it makes the 24 year old person happy - go for it.

None: I've tried to find any evidence that em energy (as in iphone use) is harmful and i cannot say there is any to support that it is harmful.I guess the even more distant phone a few feet away is even less dangerous.There is popular press that disputes this;they have no real evidence.

can this cause cancer? every night i sleep with my phone under my pillow this way the vibration from the alarm clock will wake me. is this dangerous?

Probably not, but...: I would put your phone on airplane mode when it is under your pillow. That way, it is not receiving cell signals. We don't know if cell phones are truly safe, and I worry more in young people like you. Since you shouldn't be getting calls while you're sleeping, you can still use the alarm with your wi-fi and cellular service off, decreasing the electromagnetic exposure to your brain.

How is nighttime?: I'm most suspicious, given your age &amp; teenagers' reputations for suboptimal sleep hygiene(!), that you are not getting enough restful/restorative sleep at night, so that if you fall asleep in the afternoon, you go into very deep stages of sleep that are difficult to awaken from. I would start by improving nighttime sleep: establish consistent bedtime(!), no distractions(phone,etc), avoid caffeine.

Good Sleep : Is important for body repair and recovery. Sleeping right away after having a meal is not a good habit. If you are oversleeping and losing energy all the time, you need to see your md to rule out depression or any possible systemic condition.

Good meds for that: There are a number of good meds to help cure that. Ask your doc or a urologist.

Waking: It depends on several factors. For example what time do you normally wake up and what time do you wake up early? Do you feel rested or not? How early do you wake up?Etc.
