None: I've tried to find any evidence that em energy (as in iphone use) is harmful and i cannot say there is any to support that it is harmful.I guess the even more distant phone a few feet away is even less dangerous. There is popular press that disputes this;they have no real evidence.

IPhone: I have several patients that do the same, none have reported any unusual or adverse effects.

Increased arousals: The phone lights up with every text or email received potentially leading to increased awakenings and arousals. If it is on vibrate mode, that alone can lead to arousals. The mere fact that the phone is present and an item to be responded to can decrease the depth of your sleep. Decreased sleep clearly negatively impacts memory and daytime cognitive function.
