Bruising business.: When bruising occurs, ruptured blood vessels causes blood to leak into the surrounding tissues. On occasion the blood leaks  in between certain layers of tissue only to appear at remote, uninjured areas. This phenomena is more readily observed when you have your blood drawn, only to see the bruising effect half way up or down your arm. The blood will slowly dissipate over a week or two.

Medical evaluation: Med eval combined with x-ray will show if you have a fracture. You can see an orthopedic surgeon or a podiatrist.

: It's very likely that it is fracture, especially if your pinky toe's position was changed after the injury. This type of fracture is commonly referred to a "bed post fracture" and is either a rupture of the joint capsule leading to change in position of the bone or a fracture of one of the bones in the foot. X-rays are the best way to differentiate between a fracture versus joint capsule injury.

Fracture?: May have broken a bone particularly if you have diabetes.  Boot or cast may be necessary.  Recommend having it looked at by your doctor.

Could be fracture: It is not feasible to provide a meaningful opinion without examining you and an x-ray of the affected toe. It is possile that you had a frature of a bone in your little toe. If ther is no deformity, you may let it heal on its own.

Fracture: With any type of trauma, there is always a risk of incurring fracture.  Fractures typically present with swelling, redness, and pain.  If toe is not getting better, i would advise seeing your doctor and have xray done.

Ouch!: You could have fractured the toe!  apply an ice pack to the area, elevate the foot, and possibly buddy splint the little toe the the adjacent toe (if there is not too much swelling).  If the pain persists, i would see a podiatrist or orthopedist to have x-rays and a rigid surgical shoe to protect the toe if it is fractured.

Buddy taping.: As long as the stubbing has not left your toe with some obscene  angular deformity, either up/down or right/ left, your toe will probably do just fine with a minimal amount of help. The blood is from vessels that have obviously been injured. The key now is prevent further injury as well as stabilize the toe so healing can proceed uninterrupted. Splinting seems to work in most cases.
