Ouch!: You could have fractured the toe! apply an ice pack to the area, elevate the foot, and possibly buddy splint the little toe the the adjacent toe (if there is not too much swelling). If the pain persists, i would see a podiatrist or orthopedist to have x-rays and a rigid surgical shoe to protect the toe if it is fractured.

Bruising & swelling?: Have an x-ray taken. Usually with a break, there is bleeding from the bone which leads to swelling and bruising to the toe and surrounding area. This is not always the case, but when i see this, i always take an x-ray to see. The fact that you can move your toes does not mean it can't be broken. Too much depends on the site and extent of the break to recommend treatmnent options.

Maybe: Try off-loading it with a stiff sandal and wrapping it next to the 4th toe (buddy splinting). Use ice and antiinflammatory medication (ibuprofen, etc). If it continues to hurt for 1-2 weeks, you may need to see a doctor, but all they'll do is what i just instructed with an xray. Good luck.
