i woke up one morning and my face had a breakout of pimples, what can i use that will work fast?

Accepted Answer

Acne: Do you have a history or acne, or this was a first breakout. If latter, then it is not acne, and the breakout. Could be some type of an allergic or other reaction., which could respond to prednisone and/or antibiotics. Unfortunately there is nothing that will work "fast", but see your doctor, who knows your history, and can tell you what to do.

i started accutane with lots of gunk under the skin + few pimples. my skin started to breakout everywhere til now week7. why does this happen?

Accutane: Accutane is not without adverse effects. I would expect improvement by week 7, at least no worsening. If you are worse, call your dermatologist.

It : It sounds as though your son may have a skin infection with abscesses or "boils". These usually start out as tender, red areas which become hard and then eventually develop a "head" of white pus. Once this drains, the area usually heals on its own. Most of these are caused by staphylococcus aureas, a common bacteria found on the skin. Occasionally, however, the can be caused by mrsa, the antibiotic resistent kind of staph bacteria.

Next time your son develops one of these infections, start out by applying warm compresses to the area to help draw the infection out. Then, you should take him to his doctor so that they can drain it, test for what bacteria is causing it and be able to treat him appropriately - sometimes with antibiotics, sometimes just with drainage. If he ever develops fever, chills, or feels ill with this infection, call his doctor immediately.

You can try and prevent these infections by practicing good hygiene and using anti-bacterial soaps. His doctor may have other suggestions for prevention.

Assessment:  Don't know how long ago she had her injection or what it was. However if she has a large boil (abscess?) consider having her pediatrician or your family doctor look at it. If it is more like a pimple - consider use of warm compresses.  If the area is red, warm, tender or swollen - it may be an infection.

Could be: a  bartholin's cyst, a sebaceous cyst, an abscess, an infected hair follicle etc. Med history and examination would be required for accurate diagnosis.

Need to examine: It is not feasible to provide a meaningful opinion without additional history, physical examination and may be some tests. What you perceived to be worms may have been thick discharge. It is more likely that you have folliculitis and it would be prudent to see a doctor for a proper diagnosis and treatment.

Pearly penile papule: This is a difficult thing to remove, and is a skin condition that is not pathologic. Opening up the pustule will not heal the condition, and requires a surgeon to remove it !

Keep area clean: and don't pick at it.  If doesn't go away in a few days you should have it checked.

Do Not Pop it: Clean 3-4 times per day with peroxide and put an antibiotic ointment on afterwarsdthis should prevent infection. And you should not pop it on your own as this tends to increase the risk of infection.
