Cat allergy: You have a cat allergy. If you are coming home and know there will be problem there are a few things to do. First ask parents to be sure your room is clean and cat hair and cat free and cleaned before you get there. Nasalcrom (cromolyn) is a great way to help prevent cat issues...It is over the counter and you can start using it a week before you come home and it will reduce your response.

i have permanent post nasal drip throughout the year (summer is my only break but i still have some phlegm sometimes). dairy aggravated it so i cut it out in feb but was still sick the entire winter with upper resp infections. help :(?

Allergies.: That sounds like allergies.  Nasal congestion, runny nose, cough, headache, facial pains and earache can be triggered by fragrances, dust mites, grass, trees, pets, environmental molds and such.  There are outdoor and indoor allergens.  See a doctor soon, here or locally, as there are medications that may help.  You may also benefit from allergy testing to identify your triggers.

Either one: Trauma to the nose may break the nasal bones or the nasal cartilages. This can make the nose crooked or lead to nasal congestion or blockage. A nose surgeon should be able to assess the injuries ad advise how best to treat them.

i took 2 nyquil right before bed and after laying in bed i feel like my stuffy nose is getting worse. i have some dayquil  sever cold and flu with nasal decongestant, can i take one or two of those now to help break up the mucus a little or is that too mu

And: Stop all this over the counter. Causes some side effects like increase in bp. Now try very hot fluids to open up the sinus rest give this a few days if you get worse see your doctor. Takes several weeks to resolve. Most often viral.

Allergist evaluation: if you have access to an allergist, kindly seek their evaluation, you may very well have allergic rhiosinusitis, the medications you used would have some benefit, but need to be taken on regular basis, not as needed basis or for short courses, of course the systemic steroids can't be for long course unless really indicated, but local steroid sprays would do the trick, meanwhile. Unknown: A nasal fracture will usually result in nasal bleeding but not always. But, not all nasal fracture need treatment. If breathing and appearance are unchanged then observation is fine. Wait for the swelling to go down which takes 5-7 days and then see a ENT or plastic surgeon if it looks off or doesn't breath normally.

Hard to Do ....: But yes . The nose is mostly softer cartilage, but it can happen with a sever enough injury.

Broken nose: If there is no breathing obstruction or nose bleed correction can wait until the child is older. If cosmetic correction is needed then surgery should be considered for the present.
