i take 25mg zoloft (sertraline) since 3 yrs for ocd. am much better. i want to stop. how to do that gradully. can t break the 50 mg pill to 3 pieces. plz advise?

Discuss with your: Primary dr or psychiatrist. There is no hard and fast rule on tapering the dose. I won't recommend cutting the pill in thirds.Perhaps you make take 1/2 tablet (if it's scored) every day or take it every other day for 2-4 weeks then stop . Best wishes!

Potentially, yes. : This is potentially dangerous and may lead to something known as serotonin Syndrome. This can cause one to be agitated, have muscle spasm, fever, vomiting, diarrhea and other symptoms. If any of these symptoms are present an emergency room visit is warranted.  Please be careful with your medications.

No: Should not be a problem.  Be sure to take Ibuprofen with food and water to reduce risk of stomach irritation.

Extra Zoloft (sertraline): you are going to be fine. One extra 25 mg of Zoloft (sertraline) is not going to have any significant affect on you.  I doubt you will even notice it.  At most you may have a little loose stool.  It is going to be ok, just keep taking your regular dose from now on.  Peace and good luck.

my son is supposed to take 12.5mg of zoloft (sertraline) a half of a 25. accidentally received a whole pill while grandpa filled in. should i be concerned?

Depending: Depending on how old your son is ... This shouldn't be a problem. Zoloft (sertraline) is generally indicated at 25 mg. for ages 6 and up. Just head back to the lower dose tomorrow. Hope that helps!

Yes: Be more careful. 200 mg of Zoloft (sertraline) never killed anybody. Skipping tomorrow shouldn't disrupt the effect of the drug. BUT: Call your doctor and let him/her know. Don't personalize this: He/she's your doctor, not yout mother.

Ask pharmacist: You'd need to ask the pharmacist about the particular generic they're using in their supply -- some may have gluten in them.  The generic sertraline made by greenstone apparently is gluten-free.

That : That is a good question and it is good that you are being cautions.  No, it would not be a good idea to take sertraline and a.C.E. Diet pills.  The diet pills contain stimulants (though they are stated to be natural) that can affect the mechanism of sertraline.  It would not be safe to take them together.
