i feel dizzy n excess thirst after defecation smetimes.it lasts for mre thn a day.ialso hve frequent diarrheoa.i had blood in stool a few months ago.then i defecated blood and mucus only.i had diarrheoa n then i tested my stool it shwed 6-8 puss cell?

Get GI consult: You could have an intestinal parasite, perhaps giardiasis, and cannot exclude inflammatory process such as ulcerative colitis.  From a non-GI doctor perspective, this needs to be addressed ASAP.  Maybe gastroenterologist later, but first stool samples for O &amp; P, and start excluding different infections.

hi, i am having some uncomfortable symptoms and i dont know what it could be, i have extreme pain when i sit for too long, laying down, and standing up im ok. also have side pain, dizziness, numbness in legs and blood in stool. should i go to emerge?

: Beyond the negative aspects of "sitting too long" regarding exercise and potential decreased venous return to the heart, which can cause blood clotting in lower extremities, "sitting too long" also compresses the sciatic nerve and can cause resultant pain.  Blood in the stool is a different problem, and should be evaluated by a GI physician as soon as possible.

new recurrence of pure blood stool (~500cc) every 2 hours 3 days after polypectomy. gi said wait for it to stop. dizzy, weak, shaky. what should i do?

Get someone: To take you to the emergency room at the hospital where your GI doctor practices and notify his office that you are on your way. If there is that much bleeding and you are symptomatic, it will need immediate evaluation and treatment.

for almost a month now when i wipe its blood on the wipe, ive checked to see if theres blood in stool but dont see any at all, its happened before but i just thought ive wiped too much and thats why i had switched to wet wipes, please help?

: The presence of blood means a trip to the doctor.  Please don't let your mind run away with frightening thoughts.  The reason may be simple and easy to correct but remotely could be more serious.  Not seeing blood in the stool may mean it's microscopic but still there. Peace and good health.

Not normal, get help: Blood in stool is a warning sign. Brisk bleeding warrants emergency care. Causes of bleeding may be predictable (e.G rectal trauma), but evaluation is always appropriate. A rule of thumb (but not absolute): black stool means bleeding comes from upper GI tract; grape jelly stool from small bowel; silver stool from biliary tree; burgundy stool from right colon; red blood from left colon to anus.

A lot of things: Many things can cause blood in the stool (i presume you talk about bright red blood and not black tarry stools) including simple things like hemorrhoids or fissures or more serious things like colitis, polyps, or even cancer.  Any blood in the stool should be evaluated.  Visit your family doc and he/she will likely send you to a gastroenterologist.  Best to you.

See your doc: Maybe hemorrhoids, but 48 is close enough to 50 for "screening colonoscopy"- look for polyps-precancerous growths, in people with no symptoms (e.g. Bleeding, pain change in bowel habit), normal physical  (no blood in stool, no lumps, tenderness),  normal labs (no anemia).
Colonoscopy to evaluate a symptom, e.g. Blood in stool is not screening. It is part of a diagnostic evaluation. Get colonoscopy.
