A member asked:

Hi, i am having some uncomfortable symptoms and i dont know what it could be, i have extreme pain when i sit for too long, laying down, and standing up im ok. also have side pain, dizziness, numbness in legs and blood in stool. should i go to emerge?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Beyond the negative aspects of "sitting too long" regarding exercise and potential decreased venous return to the heart, which can cause blood clotting in lower extremities, "sitting too long" also compresses the sciatic nerve and can cause resultant pain. Blood in the stool is a different problem, and should be evaluated by a GI physician as soon as possible.
