is it possible to fix a blepharoplasty where too much skin was removed?

Eyelid surgery fix: If too much skin is removed during a blepharoplasty procedure, patients may have difficulty closing their eyes which in turn can cause dry eye and irritation. If necessary a skin graft or tightening procedure (canthoplexy) can be performed to correct the overly aggressive surgery. It is important to speak to you surgeon if you are having these issues.

Depends!: If properly-performed by an eyelid surgery specialist (abps-certified plastic surgeon) temporary tightness usually resolves. If done by someone without proper training or expertise and truly excessive skin incorrectly removed, then reconstructive surgery is possible and may need to be considered. Seek several opinions by abps-certified plastic surgeons before doing any more surgery! good luck!

That : That would be incredibly rare.  I can understand your concern, so be sure that your doctor understands your concerns as well.  If, under very rare circumstances that too much skin is removed, there are options for repair.  Remember, initially it may look a little "tight", but our skin continues to lose elasticity over time and to "relax", so this will resolve.

Laser: For severe excess skin, Blepharoplasty may be the best optio. For milder forms, collagen rejuvenation using Yag Laser may help tighten the skin.

Accepted Answer

Yes: It will depend on whether one is taling about upper or lower eyelids.  For upper eyelids if there is still redundant or extra skin,  treatment option aresurgically excsised (blepharoplasty) , thermage radiofrequency tightening procedure  for lower lids one ulthera (also utilizing radiofrequency to tighten skin) or laser procedures will tighten skin.

i've noticed the skin above my eyes (under the eye brow) already starting to sag a bit.am i too young for an eye lift?

Depends: I advise you to see the Ophthalmologist and Dermatologist to determine if your concerns are cosmetic or medically necessary. Plastic surgeons are available to operate.

how long before another eye lift will be necessary? i'm looking into having an eye lift due to saggy and wrinkled skin but don't want to have this surgery several times. how long can i expect to have the results last for the first operation?

Most : Most of my patients have had lid lifts that have lasted ten or more years. This will vary from patients to patients, but I have seen patients do well with just one surgery.

will i need to remove my fake eyelashes before a blepharoplasty? i get eyelash extensions every two weeks.  even my eye doctor thinks they are real.  should i have them removed before a blepharoplasty?

If : If your are referencing the eyelash extensions that are on each individual hair - this should not be an issue. It is reasonable to let your physician know that you have them, but having them will not negatively impact your procedure.

: You may benefit from IPL / BBL (broad band laser) to prevent this.  Don't think that filler is the answer. Also, very benign microneedling might help.  No more surgery or filler in this situation in my opinion.
