However bleeding gums are not to be ignored. That is an obvious sign of an uncontrolled periodontal issue that does not get better on it's own.  Go to a dentist and an mdnow!

Worry more about the real, known ways that people catch HIV, which don't include sharing food.

Unlikely: That is  very unlikely (but not totally inpossible ) unless you both have bleeding gums or lips? However there are more contagious things besides HIV and best if any one is bleeding best not to share drinks etc.

People typically don't catch HIV via an episode of oral sex.

Not a concern: The hygienist had clean hands, probably the gloves were much dirtier after she was done cleaning your teeth and having them in your mouth. The towel was clean as well. No risk in my opinion. Stay safe.
