my husband stretches his ears with gauges and this last time he stretched the bottom of his lobe became black and thinned with bleeding and pus..help

Tell him don't do it: Why does he stretches his ears? He has probably injured his ear tissue and then bled and form a hematoma and then it became infected. He needs to see someone and most likely the hematoma needs to be drained and he needs to be on antibiotics.

Needs evaluation: This suggests you have a bacterial infection within the layers of the scalp. It will likely spread and worsen unless it is treated with prescription meds.

Does it hurt.. swell: Ear lobe may be healing a while after piercing . Make sure you clean  it ( alcohol wipe), use gold only.( other metal can cause reaction). If hurts , red , swollen .. probably infectef and can bleed. Or if  you forcefully try to put earring in..Try cold compress, Neosporin on earring to glide in .. if redness spreading see your doctor immediately.

Skin infection: I have only seen this type of skin reaction in pierced ears and it is usually related to a bacterial skin infection. I suggest a dermatology evaluation. Just to clarify: you are not really stating that your entired eablobe falls off-just scabbing?

By CT??: Confused about how you know you had bleeding on your frontal lobe?  By ct?  If so, why did you get the ct if no head trauma?  Really hard to answer this question without more info.  Good luck!

Be seen: I would strongly advise not to stick anything in your ear. If you are bleeding and not sure why, you want to be seen as soon as possible. It may be nothing or something, but you cannot look inside of your ear.

Likely ok: Clean with mild soap, pat dry and cover.  Watch for sign of infection over next few days as it heals (surrounding/expanding redness, pus, swelling, poor wound closure, pain). Unlikely that comb could have passed far enough into the ear to damage the eardrum.

Using a Q-tip to : Clean the external ear canal pushes wax toward the eardrum. A scratch in the canal will heal; a ruptured ear drum would've been very painful. If her doctor okays it, use 2% hydrogen peroxide mixed 50-50 with sterile water in a sterile botle & dropper. Lay baby on her side, gently pull back the ear, instill 3-4 drops & allow 4-5 minutes in that position for it to " bubble" out the wax, not q-tips.

DirectPressureEar-ly: How did you do that?? OK,OK,I won't ask.First don't take any aspirin or Motrin or anything but Tylenol (acetaminophen) cuz they don't help the bleeding.And if you are taking any other medications that may affect your blood clotting,or if something's stuck in there,consult your regular doctor.Next, pack the ear canal with a lightly moistened napkin. If it still bleeds when you take it out in the am, it's doc time.
