Cleanse : The skin over the nostrils well, water and soap or even alcohol. Dray the skin with the a dry towel, tissue paper. The nasal strips should stick. It is the oily skin that is the problem!

SNORING SALUTIONS: Snoring may be a symptom for a larger problem called obstructive sleep apnea which can be deadly. I'm not trying to scare you but you should see your internist and have him rx a sleep study to rule out any breathing disorder. If you have a mild to moderate problem, sleep appliances are available that work wonders.

Hypertrophic turbinates or inflamed tissues can be obstructive. Old nasal fractures and deviated septum are possible. So can growths, polyps, cancers, so be examined and treated for whatever!

Pore extractors, : Mild gentle exfoliating or even 'microdermabrasion' scrubs that are sold over the counter (no. 7 - at target stores, makes one) can help. You can also buy a little device called a pore extractor - that you can use to gently push out the blackheads and whiteheads without damaging the skin or causing bruising. Professional facials do this too - but they are expensive.

Pore strips: Pore strips that supposedly lift out blackheads actually lift out microscopic hairs, called trichostasis spinulosa. There is no evidence that they are effective for blackheads which are a form of acne.  Medications for blackheads include benzoyl peroxide, retinoids (adapalene, tretinoin, tazarotene) and sulfur-based topicals.  Please talk to your dermatologist about what medication is best for you.

It could be nothing: That being said, it could be a basal cell carcinoma, although you are very young to have one.  The nose is a common place for one to appear.  You should see a dermatologist and have it removed/biopsied.  Removal at this stage is generally the cure if it is a carcinoma.   It is, however, at your age, most likely just a cyst of some kind.

Decrease secretion: You need a product that penetrates and diminishes the output of the sebaceous glands. Generally speaking this should consist of a regimen that includes salicylic acid and retinoids

i mouth breathe a lot at night but my nose seems pretty clear and i even have strips on them
to help open them up even more. what should i do to try to stop this? im kinda hesitant to tape my mouth shut at night. thank you?

Choices : There are chin straps you can where to keep your mouth closed while you sleep. if the pattern troubles you this is what is available. Other than have an occasional dry mouth/throat when you wake I see no reason to consider it a problem. Rule of thumb is you don't treat normal. Bring it up when you next visit your doc.
