Not sure what the: Question is. Solid nodules with irregular boarders are of concern. It is not clear if this is a short term follow-up or something else. It is not unreasonable to take another looked at the nodules with mammo and ultrasound

Mammogram: If a mass seen on mammogram shows signs such as calcifications, cysts, masses etc that are associated with cancer, a biopsy will be recommended to know for sure. However these findings can also be seen in normal tissue. Only a biopsy will tell for sure. Try to relax for now and I would recommend following through with the biopsy

is breast cancer risk increased with suspicious bilateral microcalcification clusters and large thickened nodule w/neg. us? how much?

Walk B4 U Run: Breast microcalcifications are very common, some of which may be associated with cancer. Radiologists will deem those suspicious enough to warrant biopsy as "birads 4 or 5".  If so, the next step is to have a (nonsurgical) biopsy for definitive diagnosis. A nodule seen on mammography but not on ultrasound will also be categorized as above. Your next step is to speak w/the dr. Who ordered the mamm.

Needs attention: Breast cancer can recurr, so this needs to be carefully assessed and monitored. Pleural based densities can be old inflammatory changes or new..So a caomparison with older x-rays/scans should be done to determine if they are new. In either case, a repeat study shou;ld be done in 2 months to look for further growth. A pet scan can also determine if this change is likely to be cancer related or not.

Breast cancer: You should see an oncologist for an entire work up as well as recommendations regarding neoadjuvant chemotherapy followed by surgery with or without reconstruction depending on the ability for surveillance of local recurrence.

: By Radiopaedia: in general, a substantial minority of non-mass enhancement proves to be malignant 3-5. Second-look breast ultrasound is prudent to look for a correlate that can be targeted for ultrasound-guided&nbsp;rather than MRI-guided breast biopsy.

can i get breasts implants with dense nodular breasts?

Yes: Before getting implants  you should also have an ultrasound and/or mammogram to rule out any suspicious nodules.  However, you should still be able to get breast implants with dense nodular breasts.  In any case whether or not you have nodular breasts you should also continue to be diligent with monthly self breast exams and annual routine physicals.

Exam +/- : When evaluating a woman who has found a nodule, the best test is to have a careful breast examination.  Many perceived lumps are just "variations of normal", with reassurance& follow-up sufficient.  If a true lump is found, i prefer to do an ultrasound+/- needle biopsy, if it appears solid and suspicious.  A mammogram may also be helpful depending on one's age, but doesn't replace a biopsy.

what does development of small nodular asymmetry in the 9 oclock position of the right breast mean?

Accepted Answer

: Although this appears to be a benign finding describing a little more breast tissue in one area of the breast,I would expect the radiologist would give more of a conclusion and a recommendation of some sort in the final report. I know I would insist on it.  Your ordering MD can find out more information from the radiologist for you.

Radiology term: That is a radiology term for a lesion that blocks ultrasound waves and makes a shadow on the ultrasound image.  Sometimes correlates with denser tissue such as in malignancy in breasts.  Your doctor can review the report with you.
