Exam +/- : When evaluating a woman who has found a nodule, the best test is to have a careful breast examination. Many perceived lumps are just "variations of normal", with reassurance& follow-up sufficient. If a true lump is found, i prefer to do an ultrasound+/- needle biopsy, if it appears solid and suspicious. A mammogram may also be helpful depending on one's age, but doesn't replace a biopsy.
