i am experiencing foot pain and difficulty walking. i am not experiencing heel pain, thick skin, pain in ball of foot, foot tenderness, foot itching, smelly feet, big toe pain, foot redness, toe tenderness, or skin swelling. the pain is only on top ?

Need a more info: Your symptoms are too vague to determine what could be wrong.  I would suggest seeing a specialist so that a proper examination may be conducted.  Although you have mentioned many issues that you are not experiencing, there are still several causes that could result in dorsal foot pain while walking.

A slamming injury could injure any one or more of them effecting the stability of the toe and toe joint. Pain and burning are the body's way of letting you know this.
