See ORS : You are getting a shot of Depo-Provera in your shoulder or buttocks? It will last longer( no one can say how long) if it is injected into your glenohumeral joint for your DX of frozen shoulder.PT can be very helpful. If no improvement over a period of time(2-3 months)w/PT/NSAIDs and injections arthroscopic selective capsulotomy can be very effective. GL!( this answer was ' recycled '. Ask more if needed!

Use motion aids: Best to see an ORS w/ experience in treating frozen shoulder patients and knowing the reason for it.Home remedies I would suggest include any activity which increases motion... Using a pulley , 'walking the wall', using a small pole or cane etc.to improve your forward elevation( active - assisted exercises).Ask your therapist for tips and other aids. Best of Luck!

Frozen shoulder. : Best analgesic way is moisture heating pad local apply for 15 minutes and active and passive range of motion routinely. If acute pain may apply icy pad. Nsaids, such as celebrex, Mobic (meloxicam) etc, are also indicated. Avoid narcotic pain medications, which will relieve your pain briefly and bring you more pain later.  Narcotics are not indicated for such kind chronic pain.

Frozen Shoulder: Frozen shoulder syndrome fss (adhesive capsulitis) can be a really difficult condition to work through. Many patients will benefit from physical therapy and anti-inflammatory medications. Improvement is often slowgoing. With refractory fss it is possible to do manip w/ anesth - and even more agressive procedures. Discuss with your surgeon the value of this for you-ie, have you exhausted the alt's.

Runs its course.....: Adhesive capsulitis (frozen shoulder) runs its course through a "freeze-thaw" sequence. It does get better over time, but it can last over a year. It is painful and can impact your sleep. You can try measures like anti-inflammatory over-the-counter meds, heat/cold, physical therapy. If you can't wait this out, you might want to ask your orthopedist about shoulder manipulation under anesthesia.

Shoulder pain: A true "frozen" shoulder should at a minimum receive an injection of Marcaine (local anesthetic) and steroid followed up by physical therapy. If this does not work an orthopedist would then take you to the or and under general anesthesia force your shoulder to move. There are no oral medications for this.

Stretch: Frozen shoulder is diagnosed when your passive range of motion (someone else moving your arm) is less than it is on the other side. This should be treated with primarily stretching to regain range of motion. This will help it to resolve on its own. If it is early in the process and you have pain at night a cortisone shot in the glenohumeral joint may helpful in addition to stretching.
