coconut oil- so many conflicting reports about health benefits. i wanted to incorporate in my diet - 1 or 2 tablespoons a day to help regulate me. i dont have a cholesterol problem nor want one. 
what do you think?

Depends: If you want to take a supplement to regulate your bowels, I would recommend plant fiber over coconut oil.  As you mentioned, there are conflicting reports on health benefits.  In some ways, the benefits of coconut oil were over-hyped. There was a craze where people were using it for EVERYTHING! Now that the initial craze is over, there's not so much hype (as is the case with most diet fads).

Read the label: The label probably touts the benefits directly, but it is hard to say there is any benefit. Coconut oil can be part of a healthy diet but consuming it as a supplement is difficult to justify.  I am sure there is someone willing to profess otherwise and sell you a supply.  Save your money.

Many, but here's one: Coconut oil is high in saturated fat, which is extremely stable at high temperatures.  Frying or cooking with coconut oil is far superior to using traditional vegetable oils because it does not degrade to damaging free radicals.

Coconut oil: Contains medium chain triglycerides that act as an alternative food for brain cells other than glucose.  Glucose is the primary fuel for the brain.  Since patients with Alzheimer's disease cannot use glucose as fuel for brain cells, coconut oil becomes an alternative, even though it is less efficient than glucose.

Protein Source: Almonds are a good fat and a good protein source, so they are a nice and healthy snack.  Otherwise there are no special or extra health benefits. And, medicine would remain fully neutral on the topic of coconut oil on the skin.  There is nothing there for health or not health.

Just : Just like everything else, there are pros and cons to taking coconut oil. 
Proâ€™s: it works well as a hair conditioner and as a skin moisturizer. It contains lauric acid which is antimicrobial. It is used in some cultures for wound care and for viruses.   After drinking coconut oil some people feel full and it helps to suppress their hunger.  There are many, many other conditions that it is puported to treat that have not been scientifically demonstrated at this time.
Conâ€™s:   people who ingest a couple of tablespoons of coconut oil per day have a high incidence of nausea and vomiting. Coconut oil has the highest saturated fat content of all oils. One tablespoon of coconut oil contains more than 13 grams of fat.  This could seriously impact your cholesterol levels.
  Because of the saturated  fat content, this may not be the wonder solution that is purported. It sounds like it may work well for wrinkles, dry skin and split ends without detrimental impacts.

Read critically: The stuff is a good skin moisturizer. The folks who study this sort of thing believe that dietary coconut oil is atherogenic. If you believed the other health claims, you'd be reading uncritically. Some of the island nations with limited natural resources promote coconut products for reasons that are, to be kind, "not evidence-based." get with a scientific holistic physician for guidance here.

None: There  are plenty of creams for dry skin. Select what appeals to you according to cost, smell, how it feels. Don't believe the hype.

I don't think so: My search of the nih database shows exactly one too-good-to-be-true study, on rats, from an obscure institution, no confirmation after two years by anybody else. Coconut has been bashed for years as "bad for the heart" and perhaps at least this promotion will let people feel better about eating this stuff, which i happen to be quite fond of.
