A member asked:

Does the coconut oil have any benefits on parkinson or alzheimer's diseases?

I don't think so: My search of the nih database shows exactly one too-good-to-be-true study, on rats, from an obscure institution, no confirmation after two years by anybody else. Coconut has been bashed for years as "bad for the heart" and perhaps at least this promotion will let people feel better about eating this stuff, which i happen to be quite fond of.

Maybe: Some suggestive evidence supports benefits. No definitive or strong evidence exists though.

Interesting: Assuming your question refers specifically to coconut oil having special properties that could play a significant role in the treatment/influence prognosis of this diseases; i could not find any important study addressing this point; therefore the official answer should be: it is needed further research to test this hypothesis. Anyway, very interesting question, thanks !
