Bells: Medications for bell's palsy usually only expedite recovery and improve the baseline amount of regeneration. The treatments are 1) Prednisone (a corticosteroid that usually is safe in pregnancy, but ask the ob) and 2) sometime acyclovir, category b pregnancy which is thought to be safe without risk in 2-3rd trimester. See your ob.

You don't: You likely have herpes oticus, not bell's palsy.  Bell's palsy is a facial nerve palsy in which the cause cannot be determined.  Herpes oticus causes a painful seventh nerve palsy and is treated with antiviral medications.  Regardless, your treatment needs to be determined by your physician who monitor the progress.

It should be OK: Gabapentin(also known as neurontin) and pregabalin( also called lyrica) are  very similar medines approved by the fda to treat or prevent  seizures, also are commmonly  prescribed for nerve pain.  Neither one  shoould cause  any complications related to dental work.  They might also help reduce the discomfort associated with dental extraction.

Steroids are very helpful in treating this. Some people incorrectly term facial paralysis "bell's palsy." this is not correct, you must exclude other causes of facial paralysis.
