Infection status: A mono spot test may indicate a present acute infection, the presence of antibodies in your blood may indicate you had mononucleosis in the past. If the clinical picture of mono is present, best to have the test repeated a short time later.

High esoinophiles: The normal esoinophile (e) count is 350 e's/cc. Your e count is elevated. This can be seen in allergic reactions, early cushing's disease, parasitic infections, asthma, autoimmune diseases, eczema, hay fever and some forms of leukemia. For more information ask your physician about your case.

lym% 16.8, lym abs 0.9 and co2 is 34 at yearly blood test. dr didn't bring it up. what do those levels mean? should i be concerned?

A little low: The carbon dioxide means nothing but your absolute lymphocyte count might be of interest if you have any other signs of illness. It's a number that fluctuates wildly from day to day. If you feel well, ignore it. I trust you are HIV negative or plan to get screened sometime.

Maybe: Reference ranges are set so that a few percent of healthies fall outside. However, an anemia (low Hgb) is ALWAYS worth investigating. Your physician will guide you here. Don't be concerned with a slightly low absolute monocyte count.

Lab tests: These results can occur when the white blood cells are eating foreign material, which they are meant to do.  Unfortunately these have little if any significance divorced from the clinical issues which prompted their being ordered.  This should be discussed with the doctor.  Good luck.

i had lactate dehydrogenase blood test and the levels came back a little bit low under the normal range, abs i have symptoms in my muscles throughout my body, could this mean anything or be related?

: an LDH slightly below normal is not related to your diffuse muscle discomfort.  I would look elsewhere for your muscle achy ness. I more appropriate test would be a CPK  test

i got my blood test results back. very concerned that my nucleated rbc was 0.2 and my nucleated rbc abs was high at 0.01. everything i'm reading says no one other than newborns (and only for up to 5 days) should have any nucleated rbc's. please help!

Any symptoms?: All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Talk to the doctor who ordered the tests. Having said that,  0.2 is not meaningfully different from zero. The result would fall within the margin of error for the test. If you do not have any symptoms, do not be concerned. You may repeat the cell count next time you need a blood test for some other reason.

No: That is how the diagnosis is made. You should get treated.

Accepted Answer

Eosinophils: A mild degree of eosinophil elevation is usually associated with allergy. About one out of 5 people in the us is allergic clinically. Only very rarely are there other causes in a 19 year old. The urinary epithelial cells are not a cause to worry.

should i worry ? doc said to retake in 2-3 weeks. said maybe due to cold (i had a bad one 2 weeks before test)

Follow advice: All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Talk to the doctor who ordered the tests. Having said that, your doctor's advice is correct and you should follow it.
