Breast issues: A new dimple in your nipple is something you should have followed up by a breast surgeon.  If you feel like your current doctor isn't taking you seriously, get another opinion.  A normal mammogram does not mean there's not  problem.

Axillary node ?'s: Axillary lymph nodes can enlarge due to multiple causes, and once enlarged, seldom revert to normal.  A "mammogram BI-RAD 1" result is normal and does not require a biopsy.  If there is breast cancer in your immediate family history (mother, sister, grandmother) to be certain an MRI may be required, which is more accurate than even digital mammography.

Brest cancer ?'s: Ultrasound exams can certainly miss early breast cancer, and sometimes fibrocystic breast changes present difficulties in detection of smaller breast cancer lesions, with metastatic spread may thus occurring w/o mammogram detection. With dense fibrocystic breasts, and perhaps a family history of breast cancer, bilateral MRI studies are best for early cancer detection.

Possible gynecomast: Lumps are seen in male breast which has a  normal duct system.  Fibroadenomas rarely seen but Ca less frequent at your age.  Mammo should not be used because even male breast tissue sensitive to RTl  Needle aspiration or sono can be employed.  Disease almost guarteed to be benign and may require excision.

small bilateral axillary lymph nodes and neck all less than cm, last 5 months. all investigated nil cause found, tho never biopsied now new left breast lump 6 oclock, approx 2cm x 1cm, could it be lymphoma? screening mammogram 2 months ago normal?

: With a breast mass of "2cmx1cm", a biopsy is necessary to determine the diagnosis, which is usually accompanied by an axillary "sentinel node" biopsy on the side of the dominant breast mass.

my latest mammogram was negative except for long-standing fibroadenoma rhs which was unchanged. ultrasound of right axillary showed focal cortical thickening up to 4 mm. they will rescan in six weeks. should i be worried?

: Cortical thickening of lymph node over 3 mm is considered concerning for malignant involvement. Rescan in 4-6 weeks sounds like a reasonable plan. I also would consult a breast surgeon to evaluate,advise&amp; follow you at this time.

33 yrs old, axillary swelling, family history of breast cancerbefore 40. doctor suggests mammogram. should i hold off on xrays? are there better tests?

Definitely follow-up: Axillary swelling can be due to many causes, but this definitely needs to be investigated.  Enlarged axillary lymph nodes can cause swelling in this area and with your family history of early age breast cancer, a mammogram would be reasonable.  I do not know what your doctor felt in the axilla or breast, but an axillary ultrasound as an initial test could show if there were enlarged nodes.

Lymph nodes: Can enlarge in response (therefore "reactive") to infection or inflammation.  Or it can become enlarged with malignancy, such as lymphoma or metastatic cancer.  I don't think findings on your mammogram are alarming.  Ask your doctor to make sure.

what would the statement "right auxillary lymph node densities noted" mean in a mammogram report posted in the findings? there was no detail about the lymph node?

: If you had screening mammogram and you have no symptoms or signs for breast mass, it means that axillary lymph nodes were seen on ultrasound which they noted and if any change will occur, then a comparison can be helpful in diagnosing  cause of change. If lymph node is larger than 1.5 cm, hard or fixed, then it needs biopsy  by needle aspiration or by removing the lymph node, sent for pathology.
