However, with that being said there are many ways and methods to doing this. First, you need to see your doctor to make sure there are no medical reasons for your weight and to make sure you are healthy enough to exercise and follow  a calorie restriction program. Medications may help.

Not necessarily a lot, just stay active. 2) be aware of what you eat. Not a diet, per se, just awareness. 3) weigh often. That way, you know what your weight is doing and you can adjust your eating.

In a 1500 calorie diet that would 375 calories or 90 grams of carbs in a day.

Diet to lose weight: You should have your calories be limited to 1500 to 1800 per day maximum and of these calories, 25% should come from carbs. The carbs you choose to ingest should be more the complex carbs such as who grains and green veggies versus white rice, bread potatoes. 

If you combine that with some good daily moderate exercise you will find success.

You will need to match the appropriate glycemic index foods at different times of day to support your work outs or training sessions.
