Accepted Answer

Yes to heavy weights: Exercise is an essential part of the treatment of a disk problem.  Using light weights and increased repetitions under the supervision of a therapist is ok.  You should not be lifting heavy weights.  You should also see a rheumatologist if you have psoriatic arthritis.  This can be           ( there are several forms) a progressive crippling disease which is treatable.

have had leg nerve pain, got mri, showed mild arthritis in facet joints. what are they?

See below: The facet joints are cartilage covered joints that link one vertebrae with another. They guide the motion of the spine. With age they do get more arthritic but do not always cause pain. Pain from facet joints is usually achy and can certainly radiate down into the leg. Usually the pain from facet joints goes into the buttocks, back of the thigh and sometimes to the upper calf. Worse with standing.

i suffer from rheumatoid arthritis and i take hydroxychloroquine and i have neuralgia and burning in the bottom of the foot. i previously had oral herpes for two years. does hydroxychloroquine treatment cause nerve pain to reactivate or cause?

: Contrary to popular beliefs (from inaccurate online statements) herpes infections do not cause neuropathy. And certainly oral herpes cannot have anything to do with neuralgia of the feet, with or without hydroxychloroquine or any other drug treatment. Your doctor(s) undoubtedly would agree these are entirely separate problems.

does neuropathy or arthritis become conditioned to exercise? in other words, if i continue to walk for exercise - will i hurt less or pain stay same?

Exercises: I would expect that you would hurt less over time by continued to walk or exercise as long as you are not doing it to excess.

Rheumatoid arthritis: Can cause damage and destruction of any joint. In the ankle area, this process can cause pinching and pressure on nerve endings traveling towards the toes, causing the typical nerve pain, numbness and tingling typical of neuropathy.

why does my foot swell randomly? i use ice packs/it swells more. neuropathy or arthritis? foot hurts every day after slight sprain 4 years ago.

see ORS: If your foot still hurts and swells 4 years after an injury then an examination is indicated.See an orthopedic surgeon for a thorough examination to make a diagnosis and treatment.

i had major back surgery in feb  & neck surgery in june this year. having a lot of issues with arthritis and pain also severe neuropathy in my feet.

See this: I see this a lot.  People have back surgery, injuries and later develop neuropathy symptoms.  I think it is because people had neuropathy to begin with, and the symptoms were assumed to be due to a pinched nerve(s).  You have to address the neuropathy.  i would see a Neurologist

i have sjoren's with systemic sx (peripheral neuropathy, arthritis in small joints), and recently had a bad asthma flare (1st in 20 yrs).  related?

Comments: Sjogren's can affect many different systems within the body, but the asthma could be triggered by medications or even contact with an allergen.  Likely best to sort out with your rheumatologist, as I suspect you could have more problems if this is not addressed.

my 1st finger overlapping index. yes still pain. i do have neuropathy and arthritis in hand as well, but can still feel the pain where its swelled. no numbness in tip. i can bend finger. injury is between fingers, (the web part?).

Get Xray : Best to get examined and xrays.then a diagnosis can be given and appropriate treatment.

All work to some...: These all work to some extent, some better than others depending on you. Cymbalta; lyrica; savella;gabapentin; zostrix; Lidocaine rubs.
