: Adhesions after lap surgery are about 70% but less severe  and less complicated  then in open surgery where they can be as high as 90%. majority of adhesions cause no symptoms. The do not cause stiffness and pain only sometimes.

i had a laparoscopic appendectomy and lysis of adhesions done 12 days ago. i feel weak and nauseated daily. is this normal?  is recovery longer?

Will recover soon: Type  of surgery you have, return of bowel function will take couple of wks, you will feel better in wk or so, please speak to your surgeon.

how do i treat laparoscopic appendectomy wounds post op 2 weeks . advice on showering ? when to cover them ? also surgeon told me there was an adhesion can a doctor please explain what that means ?

: Laparoscopic incisions are very small and heal well in that duration. You can shower. if healed no need to cover them. Adhesion means some part of your intestine was stuck to another part of the bowel or the wall of the abdomen. I am sure he took care of it and just let you know of the finding. Not to worry

Pt vs: Surgery as you probably have adhesions again. It is amazing what a good therapist who works with adhesions can do.

Abdominal pain: Adhesions are common after any surgical procedure. If you had an appendectomy, I would expect your adhesion pain to be on your right side. Groin pain is more likely musculoskelatal, lymph nodes or hernia.

Abcess: These can usually be handled without surgery and be drained by a radiologist under cat scan or ultrasound guidance. Once better, you may need your appendix out, but not for certain.

Good place: To start would be your surgeon who performed your operation.  It is possible that you have another condition, such as ovarian cyst, pelvic infection, crohn's ileitis, cecal diverticulitis, kidney stones, etc.  Your surgeon will help you figure it out for you.

what are some normal symptoms after having an appendectomy?

None, really.....: After an appendectomy, there will be no symptoms once the post-op pain is gone and the gut function has returned to normal.  There's no physiologic consequence to the appendix being removed.  Soreness should be limited to 1-3 weeks depending on technique.  Good luck.

i had an appendectomy 1 wk ago. tonight i've had sudden onset nausea, feeling cold and clammy. taken maxolon to control symptoms. should i be worried?

Probably ok: If its only a single episode, and you're able to stay hydrated, you should be fine. If you're running fevers, and/or not passing gas, and/or vomiting, you need to call your surgeon. These can be signs of ileus, and/or abscess.  Hope this helps!

i had an appendectomy on 1/28/22 and since that day i noticed poor circulation in all my limbs but the doctor said its not due to the surgery but i only started having these symptoms right after the surgery. what could be the cause of the numbness?

: What you are experiencing may have nothing to do with circulation, especially given your young age. I would see a family physician in person for a full examination.
