Package directions: Directions for dosage should be clearly marked on prescription package. Are the drops for an eye problem, or did you have eye surgery? Usual dose is 1 - 2 drops  four times a day. Contact the prescribing doc for how long you should use them.

Strain: I assume you strained some of your neck muscles during those maneuvers. Apparently no pinched nerve problems ensued.If neck muscles tighten up, apply warm applications or ask your MD to prescribe a muscle relaxant. Wear a soft neck collar if neck pain is severe and get checked by a physician.

which cortisone eye drop is considered very safe compared to other cortisone anti inflammation eye drops?

A Spectrum: There are many steroid containing eyedrops. They vary in potency.  Your ophthalmologist will give to you the one with the potency your condition requires.  The two side effects of note are cataract formation which happens after years of use and elevation of the eye pressure (glaucoma) which can happen quickly. The less potent steroids will less likely do this.

my left eye is always red requiring otc  eye drops. should i use otc  eye drops ? if  not  what should i use?

Red eyes: Red eyes could be due to allergies, dry eyes, or eye infections.  The treatments are very different. For allergies, zaditor (ketotifen) is a good otc eye medicine.  Naphcon-a can help reduce the redness. For dry eyes, lubricating tears are necessary.  For infection, usually of the eyelids, start with eyelid warm compress and diluted baby shampoo scrubs.  You should have a baseline exam with your eye doctor.

See your eye doctor.: Better to see your eye doctor to determine the cause of the red eye prior to resorting to an over the counter (otc) drop for red eyes. You may require a prescription medication. In my opinion, there is no "best" otc drop for red eyes. When i see a patient that complains of red eyes and has been using an otc drop for red eyes, i generally cringe. Otc drops for red eyes in excess can get the red in.

my contacts almost always feel dry and my vision is blurry. i use otc eye drops constantly but they only help for a little while. what can i do?

Go back to your doc: Either your lubrication regimen is not adequate, you don't have adequate tears to support the type of contacts, or the fit or type of contact is wrong for you.

Accepted Answer

Yes, if it has no: preservatives, it will be more soothing. Make sure that the tip of either eye drops do not touch the infected eye. Have someone help you instill the drops in your eyes.

Check vision: Small children tend to blink hard and frequently if they can not see well. Please consult an ophthalmologist urgently to check his vision and eyes. It is very important.
