Yes, if it has no: preservatives, it will be more soothing. Make sure that the tip of either eye drops do not touch the infected eye. Have someone help you instill the drops in your eyes.

Yes: Lubricating eye drops can be used in between medicated eye drop doses to help relieve dryness and irritation. Instilling both types of drops close together in time may decrease the efficacy of the antibiotic drop due to dilution.
