Likely just a bruise: from chair. continue icing, topical steroids and antihistamine. If worsens instead of improves, make appointment with doctor, and watch out for those chairs

Allergic reaction: Very common in response to ant bites. The question is- if this swelling is due to allergic reaction or infection/ cellulitis. This can only be judged through actual visualization of the swelling by md.

Salt water soaking: is for the purpose of reducing swelling. If you have ant bites then you need an anti-histamine topical cream.

I would recommend: A topical steroid cream over the counter or calamine lotioned Aveeno (oatmeal) over the Ben gay. The Ben gay is more for muscle aches.

While you sleep.: Many  bug bites are as you describe. I would be most concerned about the possibility of beg bugs. They do their work at night, usually not painful and take a while for the realization to become apparent. Check your bed and mattress thoroughly for the critters. You might have the bite sites evaluated.

i got several fire ant bites and a day later 3 of the bites developed painful, marble-sized blisters on my foot. is this normal? should i drain them?

FIre ants: The bites of fire ants can be painful and may cause the blistering as per your picture.  The skin provides a natural protection for the cyst and if not in pain, you can let the area simply rupture on its own and drain naturally.  If painful, the I&amp;D of the cyst should be done steriley by a trained health care provider to prevent infection.  Best wishes.

what should i do for an allergic reaction from an ant bite? usually i need an epipen (epinephrine) but this time i didn't. the bite area (my foot) is very swollen.

Benadryl (diphenhydramine): Glad you didn't need an Epipen this time but if you have a history of breathing problems in past with ant bites don't leave home without it! Benadryl (diphenhydramine) usually first emergent medication I recommend. Keep foot elevated. Compresses 50/50 white vinegar/water. Make appointment to see your MD asap.

I wouldn't: Fire ants inject carbolic acid which gives rise to a sterile (not pus) cloudy blistering. Leave it alone &amp; the body will usually process the blister over time &amp; heal it. Pop it  &amp; you open the skin to any nearby germs that could invade/infect.

Tiny: Tiny red marks with inflammation, no pus, no drainage, their bites are too small, but if it gets infected, can cause complications.

Hydrocortisone cream: Apply Hydrocortisone cream which is available over the counter, this will control itching. Keep clean and protected. Healing will occur but it has to :run it's course".
