Don't buy anything: Even the most toned abdominal muscles will not reveal the abdomen you want if they are buried under a beer gut.  Decreasing body fat is a key component of  washboard abs.  That said, anything that strengthens your core (sit ups, crunches, leg lifts, torsion, etc ) all play a role in building those muscles.  Eat healthy and do lots of sit-ups.

yesterday i lift a a heavy king bed with my son (11) and today i had pain in my whole chest and back but took flanax pill and the pain went away why?

Accepted Answer

Varies: Flanax is an anti inflammatory medication (contains naproxen) and acts to fight inflammation and also as a mild pain medication.  It is possible by either of those two mechanisms that it resolved your back pain; or that the timing of the resolution of your back pain and taking the medication was coincidental.  Don’t hesitate to be seen if your pain returns.

Find abnormal rhythm: Holter monitors and king of hearts monitors are used to record abnormal heart rhythms.  Patients usually keep a diary or push a button on the device to correlate with any symptoms they have that might correlate to an abnormal heart rhythm.  It is not alway possible to find an abnormal rhythm while checking an ekg in the doctor's office.

:  This is not a guarantee that your acid reflux won't act up - especially if you eat a large meal.

my 8 month old baby fell off a king sized bed about 3 feet tall.  he cried for about 2-3 minutes.  is he ok?

Quick cry, prob OK: Babies can move and fall in the most amazing ways- that is why people get so frantic about child-'proofing' things.  If your baby fell, especially onto carpet or a rug, cried immediately, and then was normal in behavior, then all is probably ok.  However, if you are unsure if he is acting normally, please see a dr for an exam. Ed worthy: baby very sleepy, vomiting, bruising around eyes, or worry!

Strongly discouraged: Alcohol has been shown to cause birth defects and Fetal Alcohol Syndrome.  No research has been able to conclusively say how much or when "some/small amounts" of alcohol would be safe.  As safety can't be ensured, it is best to avoid alcohol when you are pregnant.

This would not be: a healthy strategy if it goes on for very long.  Would discuss with your physician. Working with a nutritionist may also be helpful in this situation. Take care.

i'm 30 days post thyroidectomy however my incision has been partially reopened due to infection.  i'm planning on taking my boys to king's island tomorrow is it safe for me to ride the rides?

More open &amp; bad scar: One wants the best scar from an incision on the neck. Any wound from an infection will need to heal secondarily. If the rides cause bleeding or another infection, then the further delay in wound healing could give a worse scar. At the minimum, do not do any rides where the face and neck get red with activity and could bleed or swell and open again. Keep wound covered &amp; clean.Use ice. Keep head up.
