Strongly discouraged: Alcohol has been shown to cause birth defects and Fetal Alcohol Syndrome. No research has been able to conclusively say how much or when "some/small amounts" of alcohol would be safe. As safety can't be ensured, it is best to avoid alcohol when you are pregnant.

No.: There is no safe amount of alcohol during pregnancy. Alcohol during pregnancy can cause Fetal Alcohol Syndrome, which leads to disabilities, such as speech and language delays, among other things. Women who are pregnant or trying to get pregnant should not drink any alcohol.
