Two diff issues: Chorio is an infection that requires therapeutic antibiotics (amp+gent is a typical regimen; clinda is sometimes added)  pprom is different- antibiotics in this case are for prolonging the latency between rupture and delivery to allow for steroid therapy (amp + e'mycin is the best combo.)  if chorio develops, delivery is indicated and abx are changed to treat the actual infection.

Can retest in a week: In such a situation, if a normal-looking period doesn't appear in a week, one can do another home pregnancy in 1 week. If still negative then, and if one has no other symptoms, she could call her doctor or just wait a 2-3 weeks to see if the next period comes.

Ampicillin or Amoxicillin are the drugs of first choice but do not penetrate the prostate as well as fluoroquinolones and TMP-SMX which may be alternatives depending on culture result

Persistent UTI: This depends on what "didn't work" means. Typical UTI symptoms? Abnormal urinalysis? Continued positive culture for enterococcus? Persistent infection despite antibiotics sometimes means things like kidney stones or other urinary tract problems. Discuss with the doctor treating you. If s/he doesn't seem up to speed, ask for referral to an infectious diseases specialist. Good luck!

No: No. Amoxicillin and Ampicillin are 'penicillin' type antibiotics and does not contain cocaine. Therefore, if you have not used cocaine then there should be no cocaine in your baby's system to produce a positive 'cocaine' test.

Ok to use if PCN -ok: If you are not allergic to penicillin it is okay to use if prescribed by your doctor. Other antibiotics also we use, but above drug is one among them that could be used.

Amox = Amp: Ampicillin and amoxicillin are virtually identical. Ampicillin is used in tests to determine which antibiotics are active against bacteria causing urinary tract infections, but if it is active against your E. fecalis, so is amoxicillin. It will be effective treatment for your UTI.

Yes: Ampicillin is a beta lactam antibiotic- closely related to penicillin. It is part of the aminopenicillin family and is roughly equivalent to Amoxicillin in terms of spectrum and level of activity. I would avoid it until you have had a chance to get penicillin testing through your doctor.
