Yes: The range of recommended dose for this antibiotic is 20-50 mg/kg for most infections and up to 90mg/kg for some resistant germ strains.500 mg given 3 times a day sounds like a lot but is within the recommended range.  (71lb=32kg) 32x50=1500 / 3 = 3x 500.

Many: Different bacteria live in different regions of the world.  Certainly, the species of bacteria are very similar at their root, but many bacteria of the same species have developed different resistance to different medications around the world.  

A fluoroquinolone may be indicated in this case, but without knowing more about you or your symptoms, it's hard to say.  Go back to your doctor.

Need more info: This is not likely to be due to augmentin, (amoxicillin and clavulanate) but allergic reactions may take strange forms.  The question is why were you on antibiotics, was the diagnosis correct, do you have something else going on at the same time, etc.? Syncope: Syncope (passing out) is a rare presentation for patients with svt or other narrow complex tachyarrhythmias. I don't think the antibiotic had anything to do with it. There are many causes of syncope, but given your cardiac history, it may be related to your heart. Metoprolol can cause syncope, but uncommonly. The first measure i would take would be to evaluate the functioning of your pacemaker.

Usually no issue: As a general rule the -mycin type antibiotics are to be eschewed, and many of the others really do not act to interfere with myasthenia treatment control.  But the real issue is potential drug resistance from the infecting organism, and in  some cases, risky antibiotics are better in curing the infection.

what is the effects of amoxicillin clavulanic acid 375 mg on patients with type 2 diabetes. coz what i experienced is a spike in my blood sugar levels?

Antibiotic effects: Neither amox/clav nor any other antibiotic has any effect on blood sugar. However, infections definitely can interfere with glucose control. Whatever infection required the antibotic is almost certainly the cause, not hte antibiotic itself. Discuss with your doctor. Good luck.
