i have developed an awful allergy to cod liver oil which keeps repeating even though i've stopped taking the capsules . can you advise what i can do?

Cod liver oil: Allergic reactions to medications, supplements or foods usually resolve within 1-3 days, unless metabolites are still in the system and haven't cleared.  If allergy symptoms are severe and include difficulty breathing or swallowing, etc, see a healthcare provider.  If symptoms are mild, an antihistamine should be helpful.  Cod liver oil would be an unusual allergy, so if persists see allergist.

No codliver oil: There is no need to take cod liver oil. It is rich in cholesterol and saturated fats, and has no use for treatment of dust allergies. If, for some reason, you wanted to take an omega-3 fatty acid, then take vascepa or lovaza.

Go to Pediatrician: The rattle sounds likes thick mucus or phlegm. Cod liver oil may help but I suggest taking infant to Doctor. 
Baby needs to be seen to rule out serious infections like  bronchitis,  pneumonia or RSV. The doctor may provide treatment to help clear the lungs and the "rattling cold"
