Treating Viral Sinus: Viral sinusitis is self limited. Usually resolves within ten days. Try some Mucinex twice daily, humidifier in bedroom, lots and lots of fluids, lozenges(Ricola, Halls) for the sore throat.  If not resolved after 10 days this may indicate the sinusitis is bacterial and necessitates antibiotic therapy.

would 3% 500ml hypertonic drip cause major bad reactions if administered over a 2.5hour time period to someone who has only slightly low (136) sodium?

It should not: There are multiple variables that dictate the rate of sodium changes when giving saline solution.  Hypertonic saline may elevate a patients sodium level but this depends on how much and how quickly it is given.  Generally, 500cc of 3% saline over 2.5 hours would not cause a reaction.

Decrease PND: .llew sThis is a wonderful drug and it will definitely cut down on your post nasal drip if used properly.  You have to direct the spray to the sides of the nose and it is 2 sprays each nostril at hour of sleep.  there is a physiologic reason for this.  Also it takes 2 weeks of religious use to get the best effect.  Bad odor is the colonization of bacteria and may be from the tonsils or gastric dis

Sinusitis/bronchitis: Recurrent or prolonged(greater than 1 week) sinus drip/congestion can mean sinus infection that often progresses to chest(bronchitis); can result in more serious pneumonia. Antibiotics often indicated. Can be allergy related(caused) too. ENT or MD can determine for sure. Get better fast!

hi my almost 3 year old  gets a nasty sinus drip every 2 to 3 weeks and it after a few days sge starts couhging badly. tje inly medicine that helps clear it all up is aspelone. can i give it to her every 3 weeks not exceeding 5 days at a time?

See Pediatrician : Your child has allergies causing sinusitis and maybe bronchitis/ asthma. You need to see your Pediatrician who will give you a medication to treat and maybe put him on a controller to prevent the condition from occurring so frequently

PMD : If the cough is due to post nasal drip it may be related to allergies. Allergy testing can determine what she is allergic to and then she can be treated with medications like antihistamines and nasal steroids/nasal antihistamines. Over the counter nasal saline is also helpful. Other causes of cough in child include infection, GERD(reflux), or asthma. It is important to see a doctor to find out why

my son 12 had a really bad post nasal drip. causing him to vomit. at 4pm today i gave him a celestamine 10mg. it has not worked at all. when can i give him something else ?

Can recheck with Dr.: Depends on his doctor's diagnosis and instructions. Celestamine contains a corticosteroid and an antihistamine, which means its purpose is for decreasing the inflammation and allergic response in an "allergic" nose. In the US, we usually use nasal spray steroids instead of oral steroids. If the nasal symptoms are from a cold or flu, the treatment can vary. Can call his pediatrician.

Fever?: Please monitor your temperature and treat any fever, but I would advise follow up with your OB specialist.
You may have a viral illness. Keep well hydrated by drinking clear fluids and reduce solids for now.
Sinus rinses with saline will help to reduce post nasal drip.
